Nathan Peardon

Head Coach

I first began coaching at the school level with the Grade 8 and Grade 9 Girls teams at Bert Bowes Middle School in Fort St. John, B.C. Since then I have also coached the NBCVC Ice U14 Female team as part of Volleyball Alberta.
 
After receiving my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from St. Thomas University, I have been teaching in B.C since 2017; and have recently accepted a teaching position within ASD-W to return to The Maritimes.
 
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, attending concerts and festivals, horror movies, trivia and passionately watching the Montreal Canadiens.

Laura Steeves

Assistant Coach

Laura's love for volleyball started in middle school. She was a member of a provincial championship team for 3 years. After graduation, Laura took on a coaching position at the high school level at Grand Manan Community School. She looks forward to continuing her coaching journey with the Spartans over the coming years. 
 
Laura's coaching philosophy is deeply rooted in mentorship, teamwork, and character development. She believes that volleyball, beyond being a sport, is a vehicle for personal growth. Her coaching style emphasizes discipline, hard work, and respect both on and off the court. Laura instills in her players the importance of teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship, values that she herself embodies.
